Pay:
  • $615/Wk. B.O.E., Plus additional 20% compensation for opening weeks
  • Provided Housing: Double/Single When Available
  • Travel reimbursement at beginning and end of contract

The Gateway Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County is a professional non-profit theater located roughly 55 miles east of New York City on Long Island in Bellport, NY.
PRETTY WOMAN will be performed at Gateway Playhouse in Bellport, NY

Non-Equity ASM will assist and support the Equity Production Stage Manager and Equity Assistant Stage Manger during both the rehearsal period and the performance run. The Non-Equity ASM works with the Equity ASM and Deck Lead to run the deck during tech.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist Stage Mangers in the creation of forms, lists, run order, etc
  • Assist Stage Managers and Directors in all rehearsal studio needs
  • During rehearsal: perform daily setup and cleaning, track props and scenery, create reports and daily calls all at the direction and assignment of the Stage Managers
  • During technical rehearsals: Run the deck with the Equity ASM and Deck Lead, and to assign Run Crew their role in each scenic transition, as well as prop and furniture needs and provide clear communication between the PSM and the Run Crew
  • You will have a run crew track that spans departments during performances.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace including rehearsal spaces, backstage area
  • Maintain smooth, calm operation of productions during tech rehearsals and performances
  • Attend production meetings as needed
  • Any other tasks as requested by the Production Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager
Qualifications:
  • Experience as an Assistant Stage Manager on a large musicals
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work in a safe, efficient, and organized manner
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work in a collaborative manner
