Mrs. Turner is a teacher, performer, director, and choreographer. She earned an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BFA in Performance from Longwood University. She has studied Michael Chekhov technique, Lecoq, the Jo Estill Vocal System; and has worked with companies like The Dah Theatre and The Bread and Puppet Theatre.

Mrs. Turner has been teaching Theatre and Movement across the east coast for over 12 years to students whose ages range from three to sixty five, and her specialties include teaching Acting, Movement, Improv, and Children’s Theatre. In addition to teaching with Gateway, she teaches with Queensborough Community College. She has also presented workshops and presentations at national conferences like the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, the American Alliance of Theatre in Education, and the International Thespian Society conference.

When she isn’t teaching, Mrs. Turner continues to develop her own craft by performing on stage and in commercials. She can be seen at The Broadway Comedy Club on Saturdays improvising with Comedy Sportz and doing Sketch Comedy with the Peoples Improv Theater.
