Children’s Open Casting Call: May 4 at the Gateway Playhouse

Seeking ages 8-18 for Disney's Mary Poppins, South Pacific, The Addams Family & more

The Gateway is casting child actors, ages 8-18, for its upcoming mainstage productions of “Disney’s Mary Poppins,” “South Pacific” and “The Addams Family,” as well as its children’s theatre productions of “Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids” and “Disney’s Cinderella Kids.”


(Bellport, N.Y.) - The Gateway is casting child actors, ages 8-18, for its upcoming mainstage productions of “Disney’s Mary Poppins,” “South Pacific” and “The Addams Family,” as well as its children’s theatre productions of “Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids” and “Disney’s Cinderella Kids.”

There will be an open audition call on Sunday May 4th from 11AM to 6PM at The Gateway Playhouse (215, South Country Road, Bellport, NY, 11713). Signups begin at 10AM in the Gateway Lobby. Please bring sheet music and prepare 32 bars of music to sing. An accompanist will be provided.

Actors must be available for daytime rehearsals beginning two-three weeks leading up to each show’s first performance.

Talent may be considered for more than one production where applicable, although conflicts with other production schedules will not be permitted and will be cast accordingly. These are unpaid positions and there is no participation fee. Callbacks will be held on a per show basis, and information will be announced following the open call.

The three main stage productions and roles include:


DISNEY'S MARY POPPINS

Rehearsal Dates: June 17 - July 2
Performance Dates: July 2 - July 19

Jane Banks: Ages 9-12 old. The oldest child of George and Winifred Banks, bright and precocious. She misbehaves in order to get her parents’ attention. Occasionally can be snobby.

Michael Banks: Ages 9-12 old. The youngest child of George and Winifred Banks. He adores his father and looks up to him. Misbehaves to get his father’s attention.


SOUTH PACIFIC

Rehearsal Dates: July 8-July 23
Performance Dates: July 23 - August 9

Jerome: Ages 8-12 years old. Emile’s son. Sing and speak in French. Pacific Islander look Ngana: Ages 8-12 years old. Emile’s daughter. Sing and speak in French. Pacific Islander look.


THE ADDAMS FAMILY

Rehearsal Dates: August 12 - 27
Performance Dates: August 27 - September 13

Pugsley Addams: Caucasian male, must appear 12 years old. Plump, adorable and FUNNY... a smaller version of Gomez. Loves being tortured by his sister and doesn’t want to lose her to her new boyfriend, so takes matters into his own hands. Strong, high vocals.

Rehearsal Dates: begin approx. 3 weeks before first performance - TBD.
Performance Dates: July 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 and August 1, 2, 8, 9.

All roles are open and available. OPEN TO ALL AGES 8-18.
