Summer 2017
The Gateway's mailing list
During the Summer Session, we offer two sessions, one in July and another in August for students of all ages and levels. We are continuing to offer multiclass discount and payment plan registration options and have planned some exciting new classes to complement our popular acting technique and improvisation classes for our youth, teen, and adult acting students. As always, our popular Let’s Pretend and Theatre Games courses for youngsters are back and going strong, as well as our All the World’s a Stage courses for those youth and adult students with specific learning needs. Also, back by popular demand, we are offering even more production classes for both elementary, middle, and high school students! Please read below to find answers about the new programs and registration and flip continue to read through and find descriptions for all classes this summer.
Refer a Friend and MORE!
In regards to registration, we are continuing to offer a multi class discount, but are continuing to offer options that will help the school grow and become accessible to more of our community. These programs include; refer a friend discount, new flexible payment plan, and the opportunity for high school students to become Teaching Assistants in a work study type program.
Final Presentations!
All of the above mentioned production classes, as well as technique and musical theatre, will culminate in a presentation in front of a live audience at the conclusion of the session. Additionally, our Production Classes will culminate in a live presentation for family and friends in our air-conditioned mainstage theatre! There will be a suggested donation at the door, all proceeds of which will go to our School for the Performing Arts’ scholarship fund!
What class should you take?
Most returning students will stay in the same level. It is important for class training to remain cumulative and relationships formed in first session classes are appropriate for continued growth. However, some may get recommended to a new class or teacher. If you/your child are a current student, please check with your instructor and email actingschool@thegateway.org
for approval, if applicable.
Financial Aid and Need Based Scholarships!
Thanks to generous donations from the Bellport Lion’s club and other community members, we are excited to offer a limited amount of financial assistance to a few students local to Bellport and some others from the surrounding areas. This assistance is through application only and is strictly confidential. If interested please email for an information packet. Funds are limited and will be distributed based on the application process. Additionally, please let us know if you would like to donate to the fund.
New Students!
New students are welcome! Please note that our accelerated classes require a recommendation and/or approval- prior experience in classes or on stage at Gateway or in a comparable program will be considered. If interested in an accelerated class, or have any other enrollment questions, please email actingschool@thegateway.org
. Otherwise, when you are ready to enroll, please use the links to the right of the class titles, or call the Gateway Box Office at (631) 286-1133.
If you have questions about class placement, enrollment, or other topics, please email actingschool@thegateway.org
