Thank you for your cooperation in helping to make The Gateway a safe place for everybody to work and to enjoy live theatre. Ensuring the health of our staff, crew, cast members, and patrons is our top priority. Therefore, based on the latest guidance from the CDC and keeping in line with Broadway’s COVID-19 rules, we have enacted the following policies for our guests:
- Patrons ages 12 and older are required to be FULLY VACCINATED to attend performances. The CDC considers an individual to be fully vaccinated at least 14 days after their second dose of an FDA or WHO authorized two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after their single dose of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID-19 vaccine.
- Patrons ages 5-11 may attend performances only when (1) accompanied by an adult who is fully vaccinated and (2) they present ONE of the following:
- Proof of one dose of an FDA or WHO approved vaccine at least 14 days before the performance date. OR
- A negative COVID-19 PCR test, performed by a medical provider within 72 hours of the performance start time. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test.
- - OR - -
- A negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test, taken within 6 hours of the permanence start time. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test. This test may be performed by a medical professional or by using an over-the-counter testing kit in conjunction with the manufacturer’s smartphone app to display the results via a digital pass or QR code, similar to an airline boarding pass (please do not bring the actual test, as it will not be accepted as proof).
- Patrons ages 4 and under are not permitted in the theatre.
- Valid proof of vaccination (NYS Excelsior Pass or COVID-19 vaccination card) must be presented in person at the theatre along with a valid picture ID (driver’s license, passport, student ID, or military ID). Children who do not have a picture ID must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements.
- The only exceptions are for guests ages 5 and up who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical exemption or a sincerely held religious belief. In these cases, guests must provide a valid picture ID along with proof of ONE of the following instead of evidence of vaccination:
- A negative COVID-19 PCR test, performed by a medical provider within 72 hours of the performance start time. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test.
- - OR - -
- A negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test, taken within 6 hours of the performance start time. The results must clearly show the date and time of the test. This test may be performed by a medical professional or by using an over-the-counter testing kit in conjunction with the manufacturer’s smartphone app to display the results via a digital pass or QR code, similar to an airline boarding pass (please do not bring the actual test, as it will not be accepted as proof).
- Face masks are required for ALL GUESTS regardless of vaccination status inside the lobby and theatre for the duration of the performance. Masks must:
- Completely cover the nose and mouth
- Fit snugly against the sides of the face and not have gaps - Not be a face shield, gator, bandana, scarf, or have vents.
- Please do not attend shows if you are having any symptoms that indicate possible illness.
We sincerely thank you for your patronage and cooperation!
